10 Spring Wedding Guest Dresses To Wear This Season

I’d consider myself a professional wedding guest at this point. I attended five weddings last year and am attending five this year (so far), not to mention the bachelorette parties and bridal showers I’ve been a part of — Oh, the joys of your late 20s.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is the opportunity to dress up for a night. From seaside ceremonies to woodsy venues, my growing collection of wedding guest dresses has successfully gotten me through every love-filled event in style.

The 2024 wedding season is already around the corner, so it’s time to stock up on gowns for every big day on your calendar this season. To help you prepare for all of the nuptials ahead, I’ve curated a list of spring wedding guest dresses that I’ve actually worn and loved — including black-tie, formal, semi-formal, and more casual options.

Hello Molly Light Minds Satin Dress

This vibrant fuchsia shade is perfect for any spring event, and its satin finish makes it formal enough for black-tie dress codes. I wore this gown to a gorgeous San Diego wedding at a five-star resort, and I received so many compliments! The high neckline and open back look chic yet eye-catching, and I showed these features off by styling it with a slicked back up-do. I especially love that this dress is both cute and comfortable, which is essential for breaking it down on the dance floor.

Hello Molly Dear Emilia Maxi Dress

If you’re attending a beach wedding this spring, look no further than this floor-length turquoise dress. I wore it to a Catalina Island ceremony and it fit in perfectly with the ocean backdrop. The halter neck, plunging neckline, open back, and high slit create a sexy yet appropriate look. This dress runs extra long as it’s meant to drag elegantly along the floor, but I got it hemmed to avoid tripping (my clumsy self can’t be trusted in heels). I paired this with blue heels to bring the nautical theme together.

Petal & Pup  Morgan Tiered Dress

When it comes to formal events, this is probably the most versatile dress I own. I’ve worn it on vacation, to rehearsal dinners, and to a breathtaking wedding in Lake Tahoe set among the pine trees — the green shade fitted seamlessly into the scenery. This dress is ideal for those who prefer feminine silhouettes and a more modest cut, thanks to the oversized puff sleeves (my favorite detail), ruffled skirt, and square neckline. I styled this with hot pink stilettos and a hot pink clutch for a cohesive and colorful ensemble.

Pink is the new black, right? I adore this ultra-girly mini for casual and semi-formal nuptials, especially if it’s a destination venue. I wore this to a bridal shower brunch and it was a huge hit! The pretty pink florals, babydoll shape, ruffled sleeves, and bow-tie back make this feminine frock perfect for any spring and summer event, not to mention the fact that you can actually wear it again!

Petal & Pup Ricki Maxi Dress

As I said, I already have a ton of weddings on my social calendar for the year, and this is my newest purchase for the many festivities ahead. I’m attending a dreamy destination wedding in Lake Como, Italy this wedding season, and I’m leaning toward this elegant satin pick. The ruched bust and deep magenta exude class, which is fitting for a fancy black-tie affair. It also comes in several other spring-ready colors.

Ideal for more casual formalities, this powder blue mini dress has spring written all over it. The intricate embroidery adds a subtle yet eye-catching element, and I also love the balloon sleeve and cutouts that make it look like a two-piece set from the back. I could picture wearing this to a simple garden ceremony or tropical destination celebration.

Mac Duggal Floral Chiffon Tiered Ruffle Puff Gown

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. It doesn’t get more on-theme for the season than this gorgeous yellow number, featuring pretty purple and green floral appliques. If you can’t tell by now, I’m a big fan of feminine details, like the frilly tiered skirt, sheer balloon sleeves, and ruffles throughout. Hello Molly Fool Me Once Midi Dress

This is one of my favorite wedding guest dresses that I’ve worn because it works for any season and a range of formalities. I wore it to a lakeside wedding in Montana, and I loved that the red floral print and pop of color complemented the ambiance of the venue. The flattering cut of the dress hugged me in all the right places, and the twisted bodice, front cut-out, and tied straps added some dynamic details.

Jagger & Stone Emily Maxi Dress

Show-stopping and sexy, this bright green number is on-point for destination weddings in a tropical environment. I wore this in Honolulu, Hawaii, and styled it with a flower in my hair to stay on theme with the setting. I loved the intricate cut-outs in the front (that you can tie a few different ways), although it is ideal for women with smaller chests.
